The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) fuels the nation’s innovation bygranting patents and registering trademarks. USPTO is a repository of valuable data that represents our countries’ spirit of entrepreneurship and creativity.


USPTO would like to extend an invitation to all interested parties and organizations to participate in a USPTO Industry Communication Event. The objective of this event is to bring together and engage with industry leaders in the fields of data management and transformation. USPTO seeks to modernize the management of its publication data, obtain information on potential alternative data management solutions, and/or enhancement of the current proposed data management solution, and gather relevant feedback from industry thatcould shape the future of USPTO data management.


USPTO is in the process of modernizing its data management processes to make more data available during examination, as well as publication. We intend to walk through our progress (to
include a demonstration) with this effort and discuss potential opportunities for collaboration during this event. The event is planned for Thursday, October 24, 2024 from 10:00-11:30 AM Eastern Time.


The event will be organized as a virtual meeting and may be followed by subsequent meetings with industry depending on the outcome of initial feedback received.
Interested attendees should send the following information to MOPINDUSTRY@uspto.gov no later than Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at 5:00PM ET.

A WebEx link to the event will be sent once attendee information is received.
This special notice serves as an early announcement for the event and the USPTO will update this notice to provide more details and information on how industry can participate.
